Something to ponder: Your art comes from you

This passage by Roben-Marie Smith from Carmen Torbus’ “the artist unique” really resonated with me, and is something I need to spend some time musing on. I thought you might like to ponder it, too:

We’re all at different points in our lives and our art….

What another person creates is an accumulation of her own perspectives and experiences, and the same goes for you.

Think about what is important to you: dreams, fears, goals, passions, special people and the bits of your everyday life that make you who you are.

Let those things feed your art from within, rather than looking for inspiration from the outside.

The journey might take you on a wild ride, but you will reap the rewards of staying your own course.

Discovering who you are is the best investment you can make in yourself.

If you stick with it, you’ll create a world for yourself that you’ll never want to leave.

BTW I’m also pondering joining this for next year… anyone else want to come play?!
