The greatest tragedy of our time

Apologies for rasing uncomfortable truths, but this is something that really really needs talking and thinking about…. all my pretty creativity is not much use if I’m also destroying the world…

This is going to ruffle a few feathers.

We are parasites. Yes you read that correctly – humanity is a giant collective parasite sucking the life juices from dear Mother Earth.

I’m not a nihilist. I still believe there’s plenty of beauty to find in our species, but the collective damage we have inflicted on the planet is the greatest tragedy in history.

I read a story in The Guardian recently that made me angry – angry at people, angry at you, and angry at me.

Over the last four decades humankind has decimated half of all wildlife on the planet. In 40 years we have caused more destruction to indigenous fauna than we have throughout the rest of our existence.

How have even the most righteous of us become so desensitised to the destruction of our planet?
