Hi! I’m Jude.

I’m a 40-something woman living in the suburban hills north of Wellington, New Zealand with my lovely husband, and lively twin sons who won’t stop growing.

I love writing, especially blogging. My day job involves more formal writing, but I love the relaxed, friendliness of blogging.

I love dancing, especially tribal belly dance. I’m learning American Tribal Style (ATS) at the moment, which is a joy and a challenge (like all good things).

As a kid, I remember

… dressing up and spinning round and round in the lounge dancing to whatever music Mum would put on the record player for me…

… trying to write down the stories the birds in the trees wanted to tell me every evening (it never worked)…

… wishing I was a graceful dark-haired olive-skinned girl, not a gawky fair-skinned redhead.

My favouritest thing when I teach belly dance is seeing the ‘lightbulb moment’: when someone who believes they can’t dance nails a move and realises that critical inner voice was wrong all along…

I want to help everyone have these moments (and not just while dancing 😉 )

I believe we are each and all amazingly creative and capable beings – but all too often we get cut down to fit someone else’s pattern.

I want to encourage you to embrace your creative soul, and leave your barriers behind.

(I’m working on this, too.)

We are all ‘works in progress’.

Let’s walk together and make our own path

I aim to post once a week (but occasionally miss). This is usually on a Friday or over the weekend. If you don’t want to risk missing posts, do sign up to follow 😉
